CHECKING YOUR COMPUTER IDENTIFIER PERSONAL ID
(PID)

Go to the top Menu. File > Library will open up a library
page and links at the bottom, which are: eBooks, eNews, eDocs,
Category. At the end of each page, you will find a link "Display
my computer identifier (PID)". Click on it and your PID will

Question: What is
an eBook?
Answer: An eBook is a digital version of a
print book, very similar in looks and style, and which can be
read on a reading device.
Question: What is a
Reading Device?
Answer: Reading devices may include a PC,
laptop, PocketPC, Palm, Smart Phone, or any other mobile PDA
which can read an eBook.
Question:
What is a
PID?
Answer: PID is the Personal ID of the eBook
Reader installed on your reading devices. Each of these devices
will have a different PID. MobiPocket eBooks downloaded from
Seattle Book Company's store, can be read on two PIDs. Please
provide minimum one PID for reading encrypted eBooks downloaded
from this site. The PID or Personal ID identifies an eBook
reading device - PDA or PC - and you will find it displayed in
the About box of the MobiPocket Reader application. You are
required to enter this information in your user account before
you purchase an eBook for the first time.
Personal ID (PID) is a unique identifier of
your PDA or PC used by the MobiPocket Reader. It is displayed in
the About Box of the MobiPocket Reader software.
If you do not have MobiPocket Reader installed, please
download it first and then fill the PID in your Personal
information Account .
Start the MobiPocket Reader software on
your PDA or PC,
For Palm and eBookMan, click on the Menu
icon of your PDA.
For PocketPC, Windows CE, and Windows
go to the Library, and click on the "Display my PID"
link.
For Psion, click on the "Help" menu and then
"About..." menu item
Question: Can I
re-download an eBook in future once I have already downloaded it
on my reading device?
Answer: Yes. Your personal details are stored
in a secured database on SeattleBook.com server, including the
download link. You may LOGIN and go to MyBookshelf and you will
see all download links for the eBooks those have been bought by
you or downloaded by you earlier. Please note that all such
future re-downloads will only work for your PIDs.
Question: Can I
change my PIDs?
Answer: You have to send a request to
support@SeattleBook.com
for change of a PID with valid reasons to do so. Support at
SeattleBook.com will evaluate the case and shall revert
with a new PID, if your case is approved.
